Starlites Competitive
The Starlites Competitive Dance Teams were formed in February
1999. We have dance teams for ages 5 to 25 years of age; Primary/Mini, Elementary/Youth, Junior, Senior and Open.
The teams practice and compete year-round. We also participate
in a variety of community events and parades. Our State, Regional and National
Champion teams compete in the pom, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and ensemble categories. We
are the current 2011 National Dance Champions in the Primary, Elementary,
Junior and Senior High Divisions!

Dance Worlds International
Dance Championships
The Starlites Open Hip Hop team competed April 28th thru May 1st in the USASF Dance Worlds International Dance Championships at Epcot Center, Walt Disneyworld, Orlando, Florida. The team received a "by invitation only" bid to attend this elite, international dance competition.
The team competed against 19 international dance teams from around the world, including teams from Japan, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, Scotland, England, Norway, Germany, Kazahkstan and the U.S.A. The Starlites were one of three teams from the U.S.A. to make the top ten! They ended up placing 9th overall, also placing 3rd in the U.S.A. Nation's Cup.
The team was also treated to four days at the Walt Disneyworld Resorts, including a private party at the Hollywood Studios on Sunday evening for all participants in the Dance and Cheer Worlds competition.
Team members include Christie Charron, Jenna Crawford, Aleena Davis, Whitney Fontenot, Tianna Jones, Haley Ruhlman and Magnolia Yang. The team is coached by Laurie Charron.

U.S. Finals National Championships
The Starlites Senior and Junior teams competed in the U.S. Finals National Dance Championships May 7th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C. The team received three paid bids during the competitive season to attend this national competition.
The Starlites Junior team placed 1st in Junior All-star pom, 1st in Junior All-star jazz and 3rd in Junior All-star Hip Hop. Team members include Hailee Kleeves, Alyssa Kuzdal, MacKenzie Phillips, Jamie Rich, Mackenzie Schott, Adrienne Slossar and Younique Williams.
The Starlites Senior team placed 1st in Senior All-star lyrical, and 2nd in Senior All-star pom and jazz.
Team members include Aleena Davis, Tianna Jones, Kelsie Kaczperski, Monica Pilarski, Haley Ruhlman, Marissa Stager and Ashley Washburn.
The teams are coached by Laurie Charron, Kelly Higgins, Lynne Hearn and Alexis Decapua.

Starlites Score 1st Place
The Starlites Senior Lyrical routine placed 1st in National competition at the U.S. Finals National Championships in May 2010. They were also ranked 5th Nationally for their Senior Pom routine. The Starlites Senior Competitive Dance team from the Huron Physical Arts Center was invited to perform at half-time of the Pistons-Orlando Magic basketball game on Tuesday, November 3rd at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The team auditioned and was approved by the NBA for their performance. Over 100 family and friends from the Port Huron area attended the game to cheer the girls on. The team members are from Port Huron Northern High School, Port Huron High, Marysville High School, Yale High School and Richmond High School. The Starlites have won numerous State and National dance championship awards over the past 11 years.

Starlites Open Team Places
in GLCC's Top Dawg
"Best of the Best" Top 10
The Starlites Open Dance Team placed all three of their routines from the 2010 - 2011 dance season in the Great Lakes Spirit "Top Dawg, Best of the Best of the Top Ten". This Top Ten list is compiled from scores from all Great Lakes Spirit dance competitions across the country for the 2010 - 2011 dance season.
The Starlites Open Jazz routine placed 5th in the Top 10, with their lyrical routine placing 7th and their hip hop placing 10th.
